Portland House — rear extension, London

The terrace stopped at a dark rear room. We did not add a box. We cut a single opening, framed it in portland stone, and lined the reveal in timber so the glass reads as a room of the house, not a conservatory stuck on the back.

The plan holds a table, a kitchen run and a sitting edge on one plate. The section keeps the original house taller. That hierarchy is the job — light and use without swallowing the terrace.
