A planning-led design studio for difficult sites.

The difference between a good project and a difficult one is rarely the design.

FADP Architecture is the trading name of Fa Design Partners Limited, a design studio founded in London in 2026 by Aun Naeem and Fatima Shakeel. The studio works on sites that are protected, constrained or in operation: homes in conservation areas and listed buildings, larger sites that need a masterplan, and visitor attractions that remain open while work takes place. Every project is led by a director.

The planning position is established before design begins, and treated as part of the design rather than a stage that follows it.

Design

Every design begins with the site: its context, its constraints and the way it is used.

Delivery

Technical design, principal designer duties and contract administration carry the design through to completion.

How we work

Problem-solving first.

Design begins with the question, not the drawing. Each brief is defined by what the project must achieve.

Technical accuracy.

Detail is resolved before it reaches site, so that the design intent survives construction and risk is reduced.

Response.

Every enquiry is acknowledged by a director within one working day.

Direct access.

The director at the first briefing leads the project to completion, giving continuity at every stage.

Regular dialogue.

Clients are kept informed at every stage, in clear and precise terms.

Fixed fees.

Confirmed in writing before work begins. Any change in scope is agreed before work proceeds.

Aun leads FADP's design and masterplanning work. Educated at Birmingham School of Architecture and the University of Sheffield (MArch), his work spans cultural, educational and retrofit projects alongside international research. He brings a design-first approach grounded in careful analysis of place, context and use.

Fatima Shakeel

Director · Planning & delivery

Fatima leads FADP's planning strategy and technical delivery. Educated at Birmingham School of Architecture, her experience covers cultural, religious, commercial and residential schemes across the UK and abroad. She is known for direct communication and technical rigour from planning stage through to construction.
