The plot already had trees. The house is two storeys so the canopy stays. Charred timber at ground, lime render above — a base that can take weather, a lighter room on top.

Colour is held to the window and door reveals. Everything else is quiet, so the beech and maple do the work. This is a concept for massing and material, not a completed house.
